Lekki shootings, looting must be investigated —UK
The British High Commission in Nigeria has expressed concern about the spate of violence and looting that going on in the country.
The Commission also urged security agents to traid with caution as they work towards restoring law and order in the country.
Recall that in the past week, hoodlums across most parts of the southern part of Nigeria have hijacked the #ENDSARS protests against police brutality, have wreaked havoc and destroyed lives and valuable assets in the country.
Via its official Twitter handle, the British High Commission reiterated its condemnation of the open shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza in Tuesday, 20 October 2020.
The High Commission then asked for a Judicial Panels of Inquiry be set up to include relevant stakeholders to efficiently probe the Lekki shootings and wanton looting across Nigeria in the last one week.

“Working with all stakeholders, judicial panels of inquiry must investigate all incidents, including Lekki and ensure accountability for crimes. #EndPoliceBrutality”
