Ondo Elections: PDP asks the President to caution Akeredolu
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari, to call Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to order for claims that he is instigating violence in the state.
The PDP in their official letter to the President also accused security agencies in the state of complicity.
The appeal to the President was signed by the state PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Peretei, on Wednesday.
The letter drew the attention of the President to instances of political gatherings in the state where the incumbent Governor would arrive campaign rallies with several bus load of thugs with various dangerous arms including guns. They made reference top the incident that took place on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
In a swift reaction to the letter, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alex Kalejaiye, refuted the allegations. He said that the APC was not in the habit of using thugs during elections but in-turn accused the PDP of being the party that is bent on winning every elections by every mean possible.
