Number of hungry people might reach 840 million in 2030

Reports say nearly 840 million people will be hungry by the end of the year 2030, if the current trends continue.

This can only be defeated with greater political will and commitment among various stakeholders and groups comprising public, private, and international development agencies.

World Food Programme’s (WFP) Hunger Map 2020 shows how hunger is devasting several countries at varying degrees through malnourishment for the period ranging from 2017 to 2019. Going by the current trend, people unable to feed themselves are likely to reach 840 million by 2030.
