Edo Election: Police is 'harassing' PDP governors – PDP raises alarm
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has raised the alarm over the harassment of governors of the party in Benin, Edo State by the police.
In a statement he made available to the press, he stated the that the party’s governors were being harassed at the West End Hotel, Benin City where they are currently staying.
According to the statement, he said that Governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) were currently staying at the house of the former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshimohole but Governors of the PDP who were in another part of town were being harassed by men of the Nigerian Police Force.
He added that the press statement was to draw the attention of the international community to the current happenings reiterating the need to ensure that elections are free and fair.
