Again: Bandits kill traditional leader, one other, abduct many in Katsina

A group of unidentified gunmen have killed a 50-year-old man simply known as Ashiru Aliyu in the early hours of Monday at Daulai Village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

A local newspaper, the Katsina Post, reported that some women were abducted, domestic animals rustled and foodstuff looted while the attack lasted.

The bandits, numbering over 30, who arrived the village at about 1:00 am in the morning starting shooting sporadically into the air during which their victim was shot dead. The bandits in the process shot and killed the traditional title holder of Sarkin Tauri of Dandume town and kidnapped four other people including married women.

The incident happened around 2:00am on September 14, according to the newspaper.
