BREAKING: Gunmen attack and 'abduct' residents in Abuja community.
Gunmen are reported to have raided Tunga Maji, a suburb of Abuja, early Thursday, kidnapping an unspecified number of residents, PREMIUM TIMES reports.
A resident of the community was reported to have said that 20 people were kidnapped after prolonged shooting. However, no official reports have confirmed the incidence of figures of casualties or kidnapped persons.
When contacted, a police spokesperson in the federal capital territory, Anjugur Manzah, told PREMIUM TIMES he was working on a statement on the incident.
He did not confirm the number of those kidnapped, or whether there were casualties.
The reported attack is coming less than two weeks after reports suggest that members of the extremist group, Boko Haram, had infiltrated the federal capital.
