Zulum Set To Be Using Hunters, Others To Fight Boko Haram
Babagan Zulum, Borno State Governor has informed the Miltary that he will begin to be making use of hunters, Civilian Joint Task Force and others to be fighting Boko Haram insurgency if the military fail to be committed in the course of bring an end to terrorism in the State soon.
He made this statement when his convoy was attacked by Suspected Boko Haram fighters between Baga and Mungono on a routine inspection.
Zulum told reporters that as far as he is concerned what happened in Baga is a complete sabotage by the military. “There is no Boko Haram in Baga”. He insisted.
The governor also said that it is now obvious that the problem is not the President but the command and structure of the military and urged that there should be an adjustment to it.
Zulum further said that there are over 80,000 IDPs in Monguno, they cannot continue to depend on INGO and others for food, we have created opportunities for them to go back to their communities and continue with their business and farming activities and that after Sallah the government will allow the people to go back to Kukuwa. He then said that the military will be given some time to clear Baga and if they can’t, he will mobilize hunters, CJTF, and vigilantes to recapture Baga. “we cannot continue like this”. He said.
The attack did not stop the governor as he visited Kukawa. The headquarters of Kukawa local government before proceeding to Baga where he inspected the receding Lake Chad water which has the great fishing potentials for more than 10 million people.
