Senate wants 2021 BUDGET by September
Sen. Ahmad Lawal, President of Nigeria’s Senate, has asked the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to keep to the submission deadline of end of September this year for the 2021 national budget.
He made this statement while making reference to the 2021-2023 Median Term Expenditure Framework(MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper(FSP), which were submitted to the federal Parliament by Buhari on Tuesday to the relevant committees of the Senate for necessary legislative action.
His prescription of the deadline was premised on the need to allow the National Assembly enough time to complete necessary works and transit the estimates to the president before the end of December.
He also asked the various committee members to engage all the revenue-generating committees very well to ensure that a thorough job is done.
