COVID-19: Ekiti State Governor, tests positive
Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, says he has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Governor made this known on Tweeter on Wednesday, where he also revealed that he was handing over to his deputy, Adebisi Egbeyemi.
“I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive. I’m generally ok and I’m already self-isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team. I’m delegating critical tasks to my deputy but will continue routine duty from home,” the governor tweeted.“, he dais on Twitter.
Recall that Fayemi, who is the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, is the eighth governor to test positive for Covid-19.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and his Kaduna State counterpart, Nasir el-Rufai, have all in the past four mionths tested positive for the COVID-19
Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi; Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu had also contracted the virus.
