Obaseki: "God gave me power. If he wants me to return I will continue"
Godwin Obaseki, Edo State Governor, claims he has confident that he will be re-elected to power as Governor of the state because “power comes from God.”
This was made public by the governor on Wednesday, in an interview on Channels Television breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, where noted that he is a man of peace, not a violent person.
The Governor made this statement in response to instances of insecurity in the state which have been attributed to the coming elections.
Governor Obaseki also spoke with regards to long raging the political rift within his party the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, adding that he is not distracted, adding that his focus is on developing Edo State.
He added that though there are issues in the Edo State chapter of the APC, those issues can be revolved within a democratic setting. Added that things are made worse by persons that are bent on compelling him to succumb to their wimps and caprices.
He continued to emphasize his optimism that the rule of law will prevail in the affairs of the State and that his confidence was based on the fact President Muhammadu Buhari will allow the rule of law to guide the affairs of the state.
