Catholic Church Donate Hospitals to Fight COVID-19
The Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has made available all its 425 health facilities across Nigeria as isolation centres for COVID-19.
The Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) officially conveyed their decision to avail Nigerian authorities the opportunity to use all its 425 health facilities through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had said no state in the country has enough bed spaces for COVID-19 patients.
During teh official communication with the SGF, the representative of the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) encouraged Governors across the states of the Federation to approach the catholic establishment in their respective states to gain access to catholic health facilities for the purpose of preparing them as Isolation Centres (ICs).
The SGF also announced that a recently donated facility in Abuja will be inaugurated in the days to come. The facility in Abuja was donated by the Chairman of the ThisDay Newspapers, Nduka Obaigbena.
In a recent development, the Nigeria Institute of Architects has committed to a pro bono services of their members to modify, design and supervise all COVID-19 related projects across Nigeria.
